Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen stole the headlines with a five-star performance against Ajax in the UEFA Champions League.

The 26-year-old grabbed a brilliant hat-trick as Galatasaray thumped the Eredivisie giants 3–0 at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Osimhen opened the scoring in the 59th minute, heading home a beautiful cross from Leroy Sané.

The former African Footballer of the Year added the second from the penalty spot in the 66th minute before completing his hat-trick in the 78th.

The former Napoli striker made history by becoming only the second Nigerian international to score a hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League after Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

Aiyegbeni achieved that feat with Maccabi Haifa against Olympiacos in 2002.
