Oshiomhole calls out Akpabio for breaching truce

Former Governor of Edo State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday caused a light-hearted moment in the Senate after jokingly accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of breaching a private truce they had agreed to maintain.

Speaking during plenary, Oshiomhole said:

"I want to report to this House that the Senate President and I signed a truce of no more hostilities... and the Senate President breached the truce by reverting to a previous matter. The truce stands; you should not violate it, I will not violate it."

Akpabio responded with a smile and apologised, saying:

"Let me first of all apologise to Oshiomhole if whatever I said could in any way injure him or he felt offended..."

The exchange drew laughter from fellow senators and ended on a friendly note, showcasing the lighter side of proceedings in the Red Chamber.
