The Igbo Ministers Commission has accused Senator Orji Uzor Kalu of openly campaigning for the continued incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The group said this while lamenting the ongoing betrayal of their people by a handful of self-imposed, morally bankrupt individuals masquerading as Igbo leaders in Abuja.
"These men have abandoned their own people in exchange for personal favors, political appointments, and filthy lucre from the very forces that have vowed to exterminate the Igbo race," the group said.
"The recent massacre of over 100 innocent civilians in Imo State — another bloody chapter in the unfolding tragedy of Igboland — has once again exposed the utter wickedness, complicity and cowardice of these political merchants. While Fulani killers continue to slaughter our people with impunity, men like Hope Uzodinma shamelessly beg for monetary compensation over the corpses of our brothers and sisters, instead of demanding justice, protection, and accountability."
The group said Kanu is the only man who boldly confronted these foreign marauders and inspired millions of people to rise in dignity and self-determination.
"Orji Uzor Kalu, who himself once rotted in Kuje prison until Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s influence brought pressure that secured his release, has now turned Judas, seeking to please his Fulani masters at the expense of his own brother.
"We are not ignorant of the evil schemes. Unbeknown to these rent boys of Abuja, the Department of State Security (DSS), despite years of persecution, has failed to produce a single shred of evidence to substantiate their allegations of "armed struggle." Even the Supreme Court of Nigeria has denounced the 2017 invasion of Mazi Kanu’s ancestral home as a criminal act by the Nigerian security forces — a fact Orji Uzor Kalu would have known if he had bothered to seek the truth, instead of vomiting the poisonous propaganda of his masters," the group said.
Crying for justice the Igbo Ministers Commission swore before heaven and earth that the betrayal of Igboland shall not go unpunished.
"The blood of the innocent cries to God for justice. These self-appointed Igbo leaders in Abuja have sold their souls on the altar of avarice, gluttony, and political prostitution. They are not leaders; they are saboteurs, Judases, and hired slaves to the oppressors of our people.
"Their conspiracy with the Fulani oligarchy to destroy Mazi Nnamdi Kanu — in order to silence the voice that kept our land from being overrun — is nothing short of sacrilege. Let it be known that their time of reckoning is approaching. They will be summoned to account not only before earthly courts but before the righteous Judge who neither sleeps nor slumbers."
Further slamming Kalu, the ministers said, "If you possess any evidence of armed struggle against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, present it before Justice Omotosho’s court. Stop your cowardly backroom lobbying. Stop your disgraceful media propaganda. Posterity will judge your treachery. You may fool men, but you cannot fool God.
"We call on all true Igbo sons and daughters, at home and in the diaspora, to resist these Abuja-based collaborators. We call for their complete political, social, and spiritual isolation. We shall pray, fast, and cry out to the Almighty until justice is done and these enemies of our people are exposed and disgraced.
Our people must not perish because of the wickedness of a few. If these men do not repent, the Lord Himself will fight for the oppressed people of Igboland."
