Opposition politicians denying me credit for roads I constructed not true Igbos — Gov Otti

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has declared that his administration is focused on doing more works for the people of the state, stressing that it is the only means of responding to criticism from the opposition.

Otti who was speaking at a reception organized for Attorney-General of Abia State, Ikechukwu Uwanna, SAN, at Isuikwuato on Saturday, said those crediting the roads he constructed to other administrations should have their identity checked to determine if they are truly Igbos.

The governor who expressed worry that some members of the Abia opposition were denying his administration’s achievements because he is not a member of their party, said that true Igbos are not known for being dishonest.

“You cannot see a road that was done, and you say it wasn’t done. You cannot see a road that somebody did, and you credit it to somebody else. If you do that, you are not an Igbo man.

“But for us, we don’t even want to respond. Our response is more work. One thing you can be sure of is that this is your government,” Otti said in an address at the event.

He alleged that members of the opposition are inundating the Abia public with lies against his administration, especially in the areas of ongoing and completed projects.

He thanked an All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain – former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uche Ogah – for declaring his support for his administration’s achievements in the state.

He further described Abia State Attorney-General, Ikechukwu Uwanna, as an important pillar of his administration.

Earlier in his speech during the event, former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Ogah, declared that he would support the re-election of Governor Alex Otti irrespective of his (Ogah)’s APC membership.
