The Olukosi of Ilukosi Ijesha, Oba Omotoyoosi Akinyele, has stated that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has warned fellow monarchs not to engage in the tirade of the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi.

Oba Akanbi has, of late, issued attacks against the Ooni of Ife, even alleging that Oba Ogunwusi employed his ex-wife to assassinate him.

While many have criticised the Oluwo over what they described as disrespect for the Ooni, the Olukosi of Ilukosi Ijesha revealed that the Ooni warned against engaging with the Oluwo.

The Olukosi of Ilukosi Ijesha, in a post on X, stated that the actions of the Oluwo is being influenced by some religious fanatics around him.

He said, "His Imperial Majesty Ooni of Ife has warned many of us not to engage Oba Oluwo, knowing fully well that he’s been pushed by religion fanatics he surrounded himself with, His Imperial Majesty sees himself as King of all Yoruba no matter your religion and he must embrace us all."
