Ooni of Ife, other Yoruba Obas endorse Bola Tinubu

The Yoruba traditional leaders has endorsed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu 48 hours to the election.

This was disclosed in a communique issued after a meeting was held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

Ahead of the election on Saturday, February 25, the traditional rulers of the Yoruba people from Ekiti, Lagos, Kogi, Kwara, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Oyo states, endorsed the former governor of Lagos state.

According to the Yoruba traditional leaders, Tinubu is qualified to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari as the leader of Nigeria.

The monarchs were reported to have acknowledged Tinubu’s "solid democratic credentials and unwavering commitment to the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria."

“It’s a clear endorsement of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a result of his excellent track record and great achievement which put him above other candidates as the only personality that would bring unity, fairness and justice to the Nigeria system," the communique read in part.

Meanwhile, five opposition political parties in Oyo state have also endorsed the APC presidential flagbearer, Tinubu, as their preferred candidate.

The parties include; Action Alliance (AA); African Action Congress (AAC); Action Peoples Party (APP) and Booth Party (BP).

On Wednesday, February 22, these parties gubernatorial candidates were said to have endorse the former governor of Lagos state at a press conference in Ibadan, Oyo state.
