Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga has slammed former Vice President Atiku after Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, praised President Bola Tinubu for removing fuel subsidy.

Dangote praised the President on Monday, during the launch of the Dangote Refinery IPO, which is expected to raise $1.6bn.

He said, "I want to thank President Tinubu for taking bold moves by removing the subsidy, by democratising the exchange rate, and also for this refinery."

The billionaire also said President Tinubu's reforms in the oil and gas sector are why planes are still flying in Europe.

Giving reasons, he said, "Dangote Refinery is the largest supplier of jet fuel to Europe. Europe must really thank Nigeria under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu for keeping its planes flying."

Reacting to the gratitude shown to the President, Onanuga urged Atiku to listen to Dangote, instead of proposing to return fuel subsidy if he's elected as President in 2027.

Onanuga shared on X, "Atiku and Peter Obi, who badly want President Tinubu's job, should listen to the encomium Aliko Dangote has showered on Tinubu and his policies. It doesn't make any sense for any politician to advocate a reversal of the policies that are making Nigeria great."
