Reno Omokri, a former presidential adviser and novelist, has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari's plan to fly to Ghana for a meeting with ECOWAS leaders in the hopes of restoring peace to Mali after its second coup in nine months.

President Buhari, according to Reno, is required to address the country's insecurity before seeking for a solution for Mali.

"What an irony that @MBuhari flew to Ghana to negotiate with ECOWAS leaders how to return peace to Mali," Reno said on Twitter.

When there is no peace in Nigeria, how can Buhari deliver peace to Mali? More people were slain in Nigeria last week than in Mali in the entire month of May!"
