Twelve kingmakers in Iwo have accused the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, of planning to remove and replace them as chiefs, after they demanded his removal in a petition sent to the Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

The kingmakers, in a court process obtained by The PUNCH on Sunday, had subsequently approached an Osun State High Court, sitting in Iwo, in a suit numbered HIW/M.18/2020, demanding an order, restraining Oba Akanbi from removing them.

Osa of Iwo, Chief Yekeen Bello, in an affidavit in support of a motion ex parte dated  September 25, he deposed to on behalf of 11 other kingmakers, filed by their counsel, John Enworo, said after the petition against Oluwo had gone viral on the social media, Oba Akanbi ordered thugs to attack them.

Bello said he and other kingmakers, as well as some notable indigenes a perceived as enemies by Oluwo had gone into hiding to avoid being maimed or killed by thugs.

He also claimed that Oba Akanbi had called on compounds that the complainants represent to supply names of those to be appointed as their replacements.

He added that there was a likelihood of the Oluwo replacing them unless court waded in to stop the move.
