Okoye excited with Super Eagles AFCON Qualification 

Maduka Okoye has expressed his delight after helping the Super Eagles qualify for next year’s AFCON in Cameroon on Saturday.

Okoye featured in goal as the Eagles beat Benin Republic 1-0 in Porto Novo, to take their points tally to eleven in Group L in the fifth round of matches in the qualifiers.

It is now back-to-back clean sheets for Okoye in the colours of the Eagles after keeping a clean slate in the 0-0 draw away to Sierra Leone on matchday four.

Prior to the game against Benin the Eagles had already qualified for next year’s AFCON, after Lesotho and Sierra Leone played goalless earlier on Saturday.

Okoye wrote on his Twitter handle: "Africa Cup here we come. This is for you Nigeria!”
