Okowa orders investigation into killing of aide

Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, on Sunday directed the police in the state to commence investigation into the killing of one of his aides, Okiemute Sowho, by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in Sapele, in the Sapele Local Government Area of the state.

Until his death, the late Sowho was the Senior Special Assistant on Youth Development to the Governor.

A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, said Okowa vowed that no stone would be left unturned in unravelling the circumstances surrounding the murder.

“I was shocked to hear of the killing of Okiemute Sowho. He will be missed by thousands of people whom he assisted in one way or the other.

“I commiserate with his family and urge security agencies to investigate the unfortunate incident and bring the perpetrators to justice,” the governor added in the statement.

Gunmen on Saturday shot dead Sowho, popularly known as Daddy K, along Crudas axis by Akintola Road, Sapele.

The gunmen were said to have driven a white Venza car and shot their target at close range before speeding off.
