Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has said the Ojude Oba festival has grown from a local celebration into a global cultural phenomenon, adding that it serves as a beacon of unity, pride, and peace for the people of the state.

This was as he affirmed his administration's commitment towards the festival that preserves the state's rich heritage.

Abiodun said this on X after the celebration of the 2025 Ojude Oba festival, which showcases colour, culture and elegance.

He said, "As an administration committed to building our future together, we firmly believe that cultural festivals like Ojúde Ọba play a critical role in promoting our local economy, attracting global visibility, and preserving our rich heritage.

"This year’s edition, themed 'Ojúde Ọba: Celebrating Our Roots, Preserving Our Future,' beautifully captures the essence of our gathering, an affirmation of identity, heritage, and continuity.

"It reflects our collective resolve to honour the past while laying a solid cultural foundation for generations to come.

"We pay special tribute to our royal father, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland.

"Under Kabiyesi’s wise and visionary reign, the Ojúde Ọba Festival has grown from a local celebration into a global cultural phenomenon, serving as a beacon of unity, pride, and peace for our people."
