Lawyer, Reno Omokri has offered to render free legal services to the arrested protesters of the #OccupyLekkiTollgate.

He made this announcement on his verified social media pages today, February 13, 2021.

The former presidential aspirant indicated that the arrests of persons who were exercising their rights by protesting peacefully is unconstitutional.

Omokri called on all and sundry who have the means, to support the protesters sacrificing their lives for the many Nigerians.

“I am providing free legal services to patriots who were arrested for protesting peacefully at the #OccupyLekkiTollGate protest. I also call on all Nigerians who have the means to assist them, to do so. We owe a DUTY to those who protest on the behalf of all Nigerians. They are the last line of defence between Nigeria and full blown dictatorship! Let us #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria,” he said.

His comment comes in the wake of the recent arrest of people protesting the reopening of the Lekki Tollgate.

During the week, the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry probing the killing of some #EndSARS protesters by soldiers at the Lekki Tollgate approved the reopening of the tollgate after months of investigations.

This action by the State did not go down well with many Nigerians. According to them, justice has not been served to the victims of the Lekki shootings, hence the recent protest named #OccupyLekkiTollgate.
