Prof. Godswill Obioma, the Registrar of the National Examinations Council, NECO, has died.

According to a Vanguard source, Obioma died in his sleep in his Minna home on Monday night.

Abdul Mustapha, the NECO's Director of Human Resources, confirmed the boss's death, saying he died in his sleep as a result of heart failure.

“Mustapha K. Abdul (Director Human Resource Management, NECO), “Dear Sir, this is to formally inform you that my father, Prof. Godswill Obioma, the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO passed to eternal glory yesterday 31/5/2021 after a brief illness,” Mr Mustapha forwarded communication from Obioma's second son, Prince Godswill Obioma, informing him of his father's death.

“We respectfully request that you inform the Council's Board of Directors, Management, and whole staff of this development.

“We will keep you up to date.” For the family, Prince Godswill Obioma the 2nd.”

The publication of the discussion between the deceased son and Mustapha refuted allegations that the NECO chief was slain in his Minna home by unknown assailants, according to various online and social media platforms.
