Social commentator, Reno Omokri, has said former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has vanished from social media after he was exposed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
MyNigeria reported that Sanwo-Olu slammed Obi for demarketing Nigeria abroad when he spoke at the Johns Hopkins University in the United States.
Delivering a speech at the university, Obi lamented that Nigeria now has more poor people than can be found in China, Vietnam and Indonesia combined.
Reacting, Sanwo-Olu reminded Obi that he lacks the moral right to criticize Nigeria because poverty rate increased under his watch as governor of Anambra State.
MyNigeria reported that 48 hours after Sanwo-Olu's criticism, Obi was yet to issue a response to address the Lagos governor's claim.
Reacting, Omokri issued a statement, titled, 'Missing Person Alert: Peter Obi Has Vanished From Social Media After Sanwo-Olu Exposed Him!'
He said, "Peter Obi has posted on social media every day for the last two weeks, sometimes even twice a day. But after Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu fired him with factual and detailed data about his failure to build even a single nursery, primary or secondary school, university, or stand-alone hospital for the eight years that he was Anambra Governor, Peter Obi has not posted anything on social media for the past three days.
"Today is Wednesday, April 30, 2025. His last post was on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
"Alas, Obi, who is usually hyperactive on social media, has been paralysed by the truth from Sanwo-Olu.
"Maybe he has gone to hide in Indonesia, his new favourite country!"
