Obi's pockets swell under Tinubu, says Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has said that since President Bola Tinubu was sworn in, more money has entered the pocket of ex-presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Obi said this while criticising Obi for demarketing Nigeria by stating that the country is facing immense poverty despite contributing to it.

In a post on Facebook, he said, "As we mark President Tinubu's second anniversary, Peter Obi continues de-marketing Nigeria with lies that Tanzania has met her power needs (a lie) while Nigeria is struggling, or goes to Johns Hopkins University to falsely allege that President Tinubu is increasing poverty in Nigeria, when in fact, it was he, Peter Obi, who increased poverty in Anambra from 41.4% to 53.7%.

"Nigerians should note that because of President Tinubu's deft handling of our economy, a bank in which Peter Obi is a substantial shareholder just made times three what they made last year. More money has entered Peter Obi's pocket under Tinubu than in any year for the sixty-four years he has been on planet Earth.

"I am not like Omoyele Sowore. Everything I say is fact-checked and verified. I just do not want to name the bank.
This bank, in which Peter Obi is one of the largest shareholders (with almost 10% shares), made ₦385.2 billion in the year ending December 2024, compared to ₦124.3 billion in the year ending in December 2023.

"So, while Peter Obi is lying to you that things are the worst they've ever been economically under Tinubu, the reality is that things are the best they have ever been economically for Peter Obi under Tinubu.

"In conclusion, after two years of Tinubu, all Nigerians, including the president's bitterest critics, are better off."
