Arise Television Morning Show co-anchor, Dr Reuben Abati has described Peter Obi’s press conference as needless.

On Wednesday, October 11, the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi held a press conference where he called on President Tinubu to re-introduce himself to Nigerians and the world.

He said this following the academic record scandal that has rocked the country involved the international community.

Obi on his part said; “I call on him to immediately and personally mount the rostrum of his present high office to perform a simple task once and for all time. He should re-introduce himself to the nation he governs and to the world for the avoidance of further doubt.

“He should let the world know his name, nationality his place of birth, his parentage, the primary and secondary schools he attended with dates as well as the actual universities he attended and certificates obtained.

“He should indicate clearly where and when he did his National Youth Service. In addition, if at any time he has had a change of name, he should clearly state so and the circumstances. That, in itself, is no crime.”

Abati in his submission during the Morning Show analysis segment on Thursday, October 12, said Obi was seeking media attention and looking for publicity.

Adding that the former Anambra Governor seems to be considering a career in evangelism.

“When I saw the press conference of Peter Obi yesterday, I thought it was needless. If Mr Peter Obi is considering a career in evangelism, there are many people who have gone from other careers into evangelism. But within the frame work of the electoral process, what he did yesterday was just in my view was just seeking media attention, looking for publicity,” Dr Abati said.

The All Progressives Congress on its part also called Peter Obi’s call to reveal his true identity rubbish.
