Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi has congratulated two-time Nigerian Minister of Finance. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on her latest appointment on the board of South Africa’s Economic Advisory Council.

The running mate of Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 General Elections praised Iweala's achievements in Nigeria and the World Bank, expressing optimism that she would do well.

In a goodwill message sent by the ex-Governor to the Economic guru, Obi had these words to say:

"I congratulate my sister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on her appointment as Member of South Africa’s Economic Advisory Council by President Cyril Ramaphosa. Ngozi is an experienced economic manager, and her appointment is indeed that of a square peg in a square hole. I’m confident she will do well," the ex-governor said.

Earlier today, Okonjo-Iweala was appointed onto the Presidential Economic Advisory Council in Pretoria by the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa.

"With President Ramaphosa, members of the cabinet, and members of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council in Pretoria discussing sources of growth for the South African economy and win-win economic interactions with the continent," were the words tweeted by the sought after economist while she met with Ramaphosa in the country's capital.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is a Nigerian-born economist and international development expert. She sits on the Boards of Standard Chartered Bank, Twitter, Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, and the African Risk Capacity.
