Obi/Datti shuts down critics as massive crowd warmly receive Labour Party in Kano

Massive crowd hits Peter Obi and Datti Baba during their campaign rally in Kano state ahead of the February polls.

On Sunday, January 22, several Kano residents came out to support the presidential candidate of the Labour Party as they campaign for votes for the upcoming election.

Despite critics and oppositions predicting a low turn out for Obi/Datti campaign in the northern state, a huge crowd was seen holding placards, banners of Peter Obi and the Labour Party.

A spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress, Bashir Ahmed has earlier taken to Twitter to ridicule the Labour Party over their choice of venue.

He wrote;

"Shunning Sani Abacha Stadium for Kano Pillars/Sabon Gari stadium, a stadium of less than 5k capacity, is a bright decision by the Labour Party. The decision will definitely save them from an uninterrupted and costly embarrassment. We wait to see ariel images of the rally."

However, the unexpected happened as several northern followers of Peter Obi made their way to the rally grounds as they cheer with joy at the sight of the Labour Party flagbearer.

Expressing his excitement, Peter Obi applauded Kano state for their warm reception and for making the rally a success.

He wrote on Twitter;

"Thank you Kano State for the warm reception, the energetic and lively crowd of Obidient supporters. You made today a great success. A New Nigeria is possible! -PO"
