Obasanjo kneels to pay respect to the new Olu of Warri

Former Nigeria president Olusegun Obasanjo has paid a visit to the 21st Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III at his Palace.

In a photo making rounds, the former head of state knelt down to pay respect to the crowned prince.

Prince Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko (Tsola Emiko), on Saturday, August 21, 2021, became the 21st Olu of Warri, with the title Ogiame Atuwatse III.

The colorful coronation ceremony was held at Ode Itsekiri, ancestral home of Itsekiri nation in Warri south local government area of Delta State.

The monarch was crowned at about 3:25pm by the Uwangwe of Warri Kingdom, Chief Grabriel Awala.

Crowning the prince, Awala said, “I greet you all children of Iwere Kingdom. This is the crown of Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko, we are all crowning you.”

The crowd cheered on after the crowning as the Prince sang a gospel song to solidify the moment.
