Notorious bandit-turned-TikTok star Mai Jakka has been killed in a security operation in Garaji village, Mayanchi, Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.
The operation, part of a wider sweep against high-profile criminals, ended the reign of a bandit infamous for showcasing his violent exploits online.
Abdallah Yunus Abdallah, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Kaduna’s Governor, announced the news on X, stating, “Security forces have neutralised the infamous bandit TikToker Mai Jakka in Garaji, per intelligence from Zamfara’s Mayanchi axis.”
Mai Jakka gained notoriety for brazenly flaunting his crimes on TikTok, turning acts of violence into viral spectacle while taunting victims.
His death has brought cautious relief to locals terrorised by his actions. Though official statements from authorities are pending, sources indicate the strike aligns with intensified efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in the region. Details remain scarce, but the operation marks a significant blow to banditry in Northwest Nigeria.
