'No titles, no party' — Mourinho unimpressed by Benfica's unbeaten league campaign amid Madrid links

Benfica manager Jose Mourinho has refused to get carried away after his side ended their domestic league campaign unbeaten.

According to 'The Special One', he would have preferred to end the campaign with silverware instead of going unbeaten with no accompanying titles.

Benfica also failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League after finishing third behind FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon.

"The unbeaten thing is a great thing," Mourinho said.

"It's the first time in my career. Even winning eight championships, I never did it unbeaten.

"I would swap that for the title with two or three defeats, no doubt about that."

Benfica ended their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Estoril, courtesy of goals from Richard Ríos, Alexander Bah, and Rafa.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho's future at the club remains uncertain as he has been heavily linked with a return to Real Madrid in the summer.
