No second building collapse in Alakija - LASEMA

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has debunked the false report circulating on social media regarding the collapse of a second building in the Alakija area, describing it as untrue and fabricated.

A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu said that following the receipt of the information, the Agency immediately deployed personnel to assess the reported location. After a thorough sweep of the area, no evidence of a second building collapse was found.

Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu urged members of the public to verify information before sharing it, stressing that the circulation of false emergency reports diverts critical resources, dissipates operational efforts and may delay response to genuine emergencies where lives are at risk.

In his words, “The Agency appreciates the vigilance of Lagosians and encourages the public to continue reporting emergencies through the appropriate channels while allowing first responders to verify incidents before information is widely circulated”.

“Under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, LASEMA and all emergency response agencies remain fully committed to protecting lives and property through prompt, coordinated and professional emergency response.
