No casualties recorded in Ekiti bomb blast- Commissioner

A bomb explosion rocked a section of the Ekiti State Government house this morning at 7:40 am.

According to Vanguard, the incident caused fear and tension as people scampered for safety.

The aftermath of the explosion was heralded by heavy smoke coming out of the government house.

Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu confirmed the incident but promised to release a full statement later on.

Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mr Olumuyiwa Olomilua, however released a statement confirming the incident.

“An explosion was reported earlier this morning at the Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) office in Ado Ekiti.

“An initial on -the- spot assessment confirms that there are no casualties and the area is secured with no further threats.

“Members of the public are advised to go about their normal duties”, the statement said.
