Security expert, Hassan Stan-Labo, has described Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenious People of Biafra, IPOB, a hero.

He said this while speaking in an interview with Arise Television on Wednesday, July 5.

According to him, Nnamdi Kanu should be set free and further incarceration should end as it heightens the heroism over him.

He noted that should the government want to put and end to the attack happening in the south east, the separatist agitator should be released.

His comment comes following the attacks on residents by some members of the IPOB following a sit-at-home order announced by Simon Ekpa, the Biafra agitator.

"One major priority area in the South East which I thing will cool off a lot of nerve is for us to bring out Kanu, that gentleman pull him out. Stop this incarceration. I know some of his pronouncements and lines of action were offensive to the Nigerian state and there was a need to take certain actions but Nigeria itself is a family. When part of the family feel offended, you try to find out the problems and how to help.

"Can we start talking with Kanu, can we start talking with IPOB, can we start talking with other groups. I think some of these conversations will go a long way in addressing the problem. If we can do that I think the situation in the South East will be highly doused. Further incarceration will only make him more relevant, heighten the heroism over him. He is a hero now whether we want to accept it or not and we made him the hero in the South East," Stan-Labo said.
