Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed her delight after being nominated for the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards.

The Brighton shot-stopper is in contention for the Yachine Women’s Trophy, awarded to the season’s best women’s goalkeeper.

Nnadozie made history as the first African player to be shortlisted for the prestigious prize.

The 24-year-old was named Best Goalkeeper at the recently concluded 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where she played a pivotal role in leading Nigeria to the final.

She impressed throughout the tournament, conceding just two goals from open play in six matches.

“This nomination means a lot to me. It’s a joy for me and my family. It shows that all the hard work, consistency, and prayers have paid off,” Nnadozie said in a short video posted on Super Falcons X handle.
