Nigerians will judge Tinubu on power delivery, says Bwala as campaign promise resurfaces

Daniel Bwala Daniel Bwala

Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, says Nigerians will ultimately reward or judge his principal based on his ability to solve the power crisis that has affected the country for decades.

Speaking during a recent interview on Arise Television, Bwala noted that Nigerians will decide whether to reward Tinubu for his actions in the power sector.

When asked by the host whether the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has fulfilled its promise to stabilise the power sector, Bwala responded, “Nigerians will vote when the time comes. He hasn’t come for a second term yet.”

Recall that during the presidential campaign tour in December 2022, President Tinubu declared that if elected, Nigerians would, by all means necessary, have a constant power supply.

In the video, the President stated that if he fails to fulfil his promise, Nigerians should not vote for him when he seeks re-election.

He said, “Whichever way, by all means necessary, you will have electricity, and you will not pay for estimated billing anymore. A promise made will be a promise kept.

“If I don’t keep the promise and I come for a second time, don’t vote for me—unless I give you adequate reasons why I couldn’t deliver.”

The video has begun to resurface on Facebook and X following the power outages being experienced across the country.
