Nigerians tackle Gov Godwin Obaseki for holding a ceremony to commission street lights

The Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki recently held an event to commission the newly installed street lights in some part of the state.

Taking to his Twitter page to share photos of the ceremony, Obaseki hinted that he is committed to the people of Edo state as plans are on the way to extend the projects to other parts including; Iguoriahki, Igwuobazuwa and Okada respectively.

He wrote;

"With the commissioning of a 3km streetlights project along Siluko Rd and another 3.3km streetlights along Sapele Rd, in Egor and Ikpoba-Okha LGAs respectively, we have completed the construction of 40km out of the 200km of street lights projects around the greater Benin area.

We remain committed to our people that we must light up Edo, and plan on extending the project to cover Iguoriahki, Igwuobazuwa and Okada within the next two years."

The Edo state Governor, however, received backlash from Nigerians who took to Twitter to share their displeasure at the state for holding a ceremony to commission street lights.
