Nigerians react as Army denies involvement in Lekki Killings

Following the unprovoked attack on protesters in Lekki tollgate, the Nigerian Army headquarters has denied deploying soldiers to shoot and kill innocent Nigerians youths.

The army consequently branded any news report linking soldiers at the tollgate as fake news.

The Army disclosed this on its Facebook page.

Meanwhile, Nigerians on social media have countered the Army, insisting that the soldiers who shot innocent protesters are indeed men of the force.

"Where is your professionalism? You are supposed to be defending the country, you can’t defend the nation without support of the citizens you are killing. "No water canons, no tear gas, no barricade but live bullet? If it fail and the citizens get used to the killings by security forces do you know that you will no longer have a country? Tell me why a protester will run when he has accepted that killing by security forces is normal? Tell me why he should be afraid to not carry weapons when next? You should have consulted properly first."

Jerry Efobi:

"You have murdered sleep. It's either we fix Nigeria or you kill every young citizen. What is worth living for is worth dying for. And by heavens, what is worth dying for is also worth killing for."
