'Nigerians now intolerant to mediocre music’ – Peruzzi advises colleagues

Peruzzi Peruzzi

Popular musician Peruzzi has asserted that Nigerians are becoming more discriminating in the music they listen to.

He claims that Nigerians will no longer put up with mediocre music, that is songs that are ordinary and not very good to entertain and please listeners.

Peruzzi warned his colleagues that the music industry and listeners would reject them if they didn't improve their skills.

According to Peruzzi, Nigeria is on the cusp of a new golden era of music.

He wrote: “Nigerians don wise. If you sing rubbish, dem go clear you.

“Ordinary snippet, dem go don dey warn you. Clearly time for Some real sweet music.

“Do your homework or comot body era.”

Singer Ric Hassani has lamented Nigerian music's decline in quality over time.

Hassani observed that while the popular songs of today are "not very good music," the hits of the past were excellent songs.

He revealed this after he appeared as a guest on Rubbin' Minds, the popular youth show on Channels TV.

Hassani claims that because more people are trying to get into Nigerian music, the quality of the music has declined.

He believed the nation's hit songs had become lower quality when the entry hurdle was lowered.
