Racism allegations have been leveled by Nigerians on social media against the UK-based media house, Sky Sports, after it excluded winger Ademola Lookman from its official flyer for Atalanta's victory in the Europa League final on Thursday, May 22, 2024.

In their official congratulatory post shared via their football platform on social media, Sky Sports did not include Ademola Lookman, who made history as the first African footballer to score a hat-trick in the final of a major European competition.

The media house is facing severe backlash from Nigerians, who are incensed by the conspicuous omission of Ademola, the hero of the day.

In the view of the Nigerians, Sky Sports was engaging in racism by deliberately excluding Ademola Lookman from the post and instead featuring two white players.

Lookman bagged a hat-trick in the game played at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, on Thursday, May 22, 2024.

The former Everton winger placed the opening goal in the top corner from Davide Zappacosta's cutback. His second goal would have lit up any European final, as he nutmegged Granit Xhaka before bending a fantastic shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

Lookman's third was equally impressive; a step-over beating Edmond Tapsoba before he fired into the roof of the net.
