A Nigerian lady is flying the country's flag high after she emerged winner of a popular cooking contest, "Great Canadian Baking Show."
The lady, identified simply as, Raufikat Oyawoye became the first Nigerian to win the competition. The show is in its 4th season.
The news of her victory was first announced by a Canada-based Nigerian named Tunde Omotoye on Twitter.
He wrote: "A Nigerian baker in Canada by name of Raufikat Oyawoye has won the Season 4 of “The Great Canadian Baking Show” that just concluded. "We stay winning."
Season 4 of The Great Canadian Show, according to Wikipedia, kicked off on February 14, 2021, with Raufikat crowned the winner on April 4, 2021 after 8 weeks of competition.
The contest which started in 2017 has never been won by a Nigerian.
