A Nigerian man named Anjola Olupitan has achieved the Guinness World Record for the fastest 10 metres walk on hands with legs behind the head, completing it in 12.52 seconds.
Olupitan was officially recognized as the new record holder by the GWR on its X official platform on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
The World Record agency announced: “New record: Fastest 10m walking on hands with legs behind the head – 12.52 seconds by Anjola Olupitan.”
Reportedly, Olupitan surpassed the previous record by over 10 seconds.
This achievement comes amidst a recent controversy involving a Ghanaian chef, Ebenezer Smith also known as Millennium Chef Smith, who falsely claimed to have set a new Guiness World Record in a cookathon competition.
Chef Smith declared that he had completed an 802-hour and 25-minute cookathon, which he began on February 1, 2024 and concluded on March 6, 2024. He held a press conference at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel where he presented a certificate to fans.
However, the Guiness World Record organization disputed his claim, stating that the longest cooking marathon record holder remains Alan Fisher of Ireland, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes in Japan.
Fisher surpassed the previous record held by Nigerian Hilda Baci by 24 hours.
