Pastor Emmanuel Iren of Celebration Church International (CCI) has hinted that the Nigerian security infrastructure is among the best in the world, but it tends to favour the rich.
Addressing his congregation, the cleric stated that when a wealthy individual is in trouble, the issue is often resolved quickly by the country's security system, unlike when the poor are affected.
He said, "Our security infrastructure is actually one of the best in the world. Let me land and you will agree with me. Be a rich person in trouble. Drop money and see. They will bring the thief for you. Maybe the problem is where the wickedness is happening, that the voices there are poor. May it doesn't matter to us as much as we pretend."
Reacting, an X user, @pipfulmaverick, said, "The problem with this country is that WE ARE ALWAYS TALKING! Nobody is ready to take action. We will talk and talk till this matter dies off and the NEXT TREND comes everybody will forget this one. Its a pattern in Nigeria."
@ucheedwin20 said, "How exactly, does an educated person think this is a sane thing to say? 'Drop money?' 'Best in the world?' The fact that they have to be induced with money erodes their delusional competence. Gosh, we platform bottom-barrel IQ in this part of the world."
@VeryPrecious1_ said, "This opinion is off rail, everyone should enjoy some level of protection and peace as citizens irrespective of their economic status. You must not have an opinion about everything."
@QuantumCipheria said, "Bro literally endorsed nepotism and corruption openly...... Pastors speaks without wisdom most time they talk about politics and it's sad. People are dying you dey talk drop money."
