Nigeria is on autopilot — NNPP

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has described the country’s current situation as an ‘emergency time’ functioning abnormally occasioned by incompetent leaders.

The national liaison officer of the party, Arc. Bashir Mohammed Abacha, stated this over the weekend during the NNPP’s national seminar to promote synergy between the party, its candidates and support groups towards success in the forthcoming general elections, in Abuja.

He said Nigeria has been on life support due to clueless leadership that failed to deliver the dividends of democracy in tandem with the provision of Section 14 b (2) of the constitution.

He said, “That section states that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government. Today, Nigeria has become the poverty capital of the world. No part of the country is safe, as terrorists, insurgents, bandits, kidnappers and armed robbers operate with impunity threatening the nation’s territorial integrity as if there is no government in place.

“It is obvious that the state of the nation is bad. Nigeria is on autopilot and Nigerians are being subjected to untold hardship and yearn for a new Nigeria which only the New Nigeria People’s Party will usher in.

Abacha continued, “This is why the 2023 general election is crucial for the survival of democracy in Nigeria. We are here on a rescue mission. Our great party appreciates the role of various support groups working hard and sacrificing so much to usher in a new Nigeria where love, peace, unity, progress, development, advancement, prosperity and equity will reign, in place of anarchy and reign of terror we have today.

“NNPP is strongly determined to rescue and give a new lease of life to our impoverished, oppressed and subdued people.”

He said as political campaigns have formally started across the country, the party’s well-articulated blueprint will soon be released, which will guide Support Groups in their grassroots campaign.
