Minister for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has shared his first tweet shortly after the federal government lifted the ban on Twitter.

In his tweet, the minister noted that the country is better after Twitter met its part of the agreement.

He however, slammed critics of the federal government who prioritised politics over patriotism following the suspension of the social media giant in the country.

In June 2021, the federal government suspended the operations of Twitter shortly after a tweet made by President Muhammadu Buhari was deleted.

As part of the agreement to lifting the ban, the social media platform was given some conditions to meet before the announcement of the suspension of the ban.

It was stated that from January 13, Nigerians will now have access to Twitter without the use of the VPN.

Reacting to the lifting of the ban, Festus Keyamo took to his Twitter page and wrote;

"For those who prioritised politics over patriotism and exhibited disingenuous righteousness on Twitter suspension, they can now see that with all the FG conditions to which Twitter agreed, Nigeria is eventually better off for it. Congratulations Nigeria."
