Nigeria has never had it so bad – Northeast church speaks on economic revival

Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa A Nigeria, EYN, Christian denomination across North East Nigeria, has bemoaned the economic hardship in the country.

Speaking to the congregation in Adamawa, President of the EYN, Rev Joel Billi, noted that President Bola Tinubu promised renewed hope for the people and they expect him to fufil his promise.

“Where are we heading as a nation in the hands of somebody who came to power with the slogan Renewed Hope? Indeed, these are turbulent times because the economy has worsened the poverty index of our nation,” he said.

Mr Billi, expressing sadness, said the economy had never been the way it is presently. Adding that the hardship began after Tinubu’s unplanned subsidy removal, floating naira, unregulated foreign exchange regime, and institutional corruption.

Speaking on the government’s move to raise the income of workers, the EYN president quizzed where the church should be expected get money to pay wages.
