Nigeria has a strong regard for China – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that his administration will continue to work with China's government on crucial infrastructure development in the country.

Buhari was cited as saying this in Abuja on Friday, when he received His Excellency Cui Jianchun, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, in his office.

According to Femi Adesina, the president's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, "Nigeria has a tremendous appreciation for China and what China is helping Nigeria achieve, particularly in the field of infrastructure."

“President Buhari came into office at a time when the country's infrastructure was in dire need, and he vowed to make a difference, which he is doing with China's help. Nigeria is grateful to China for these and would continue to work with it.”

The Presidential spokesperson said the Nigerian President has visited China twice to strengthen the connection and looked forward to more collaboration, telling the Ambassador that the President's media office was ready to work with the Chinese to further the relationship.
