The Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic in Exile, Simon Ekpa has alleged that the Nigerian government intends to end its diplomatic relations with the Finnish government.

Ekpa made this claim in a statement shared on his X platform (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

He revealed this shortly after the Finnish government held discussions with Nigeria regarding issues involving both countries, particularly the situation with Simon Ekpa and his influence in the Biafra conflict against security forces in the South East.

According to Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, she informed Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, that Ekpa’s case was being handled through Finland’s judicial system, which strictly follows the rule of law.

The Biafra agitator based in Finland alleges that the Nigerian government’s decision to sever ties with Finland is a result of multiple unsuccessful attempts to extradite him.

“The Nigeria state has run out of options and ideas that they have concluded to close the Finnish embassy in Abuja and cut ties with Finland.

“Finland will have a better future with the emerging state of Biafra than whatever the Nigeria state can offer.

“Norway closed their embassy in Nigeria long ago; their Embassy is now in Ghana, they lose nothing but the burden of sorting fake and forged documents relieved”, he claimed.
