Pupils of a primary school in Lagos were seen complying with the new law signed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Nigeria, We Hail Thee” was Nigeria's national anthem from its independence in 1960 until 1978, when it was replaced by “Arise, O Compatriots.”
However, on May 29, 2024, President Bola Tinubu signed a bill reinstating “Nigeria, We Hail Thee” as the national anthem.
Following this change, many Nigerians expressed disappointment with lawmakers, arguing that more pressing issues need attention.
Despite this, a local primary school in Lagos embraced the new development.
In a viral video, the pupils enthusiastically sang the reinstated anthem on the assembly ground.
