There are reports of wild jubilation among the camp of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as results begin to trickle in.

According to punchng.com, this follows the announcement of the APC as having been the highest vote-scoring party at the Shettima Kukawa Polling Unit 023, Lawan Bukar Ward, Maiduguri metropolis, where the APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Kashim Shettima, voted in the earlier hours of today.

The report indicated that in all, the APC scored 126 votes as against the PDP’s 22 votes.

Suleiman Abdulhamid, the Presiding Officer of the PU, gave the results for the New Nigeria Peoples Party and the Labour Party as 0 votes each from the unit.

Nigerian voters have been voting at various polling stations across the country after the official 08:30 am schedule, with reports that at a number of places, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission arrived late, forcing the intended 6 hours exercise to drag.

There are more than 93 million registered voters in Nigeria, with some 87.3 million being the only ones who have been reported to have successfully picked up their cards to be able to vote in the elections.
