Nigeria Elections: 'Congratulations in advance' - Applause for Peter Obi as he casts his vote in Anambra

Nigerian on social media have been reacting to the viral photos and video that show Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party going to cast his vote.

The former Anambra governor voted in Ogulu, Onitsha in Anambra State.

In the photo, Obi was spotted the company of party officials and his security team.

He has been described as "Mr President" by voters at his polling unit.

More than 87 million Nigerians are expected to vote in the presidential and national assembly elections.

The presidential election is a three-horse race between Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), 40 percent of the registered voters are aged 35 years and below.
