Nigeria Elections: Amaechi didn't vote for Atiku - Tonye Cole confirms

Tonye Cole, a governorship candidate on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has waded into the rumors that former Governor, Rotimi Amaechi voted for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

Recall that rumors went rife that Amaechi who is a chieftain of the APC had voted for Atiku while Nyesom Wike, the present governor on the ticket of the PDP voted for Bola Tinubu.

A former Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Government and member of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State, Tony Okocha had alleged that Amaechi voted for Atiku.

Okocha alleged that the action of Amaechi was the height of anti-party activity, claiming he had long abandoned the party.

But during an interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time, Cole said, “This is news to me.

“The same person I’ve heard of voted for the Labour Party. I’ve also heard he voted for Tinubu and now PDP. Amaechi has been silent and has decided to stay away especially because he was accused of bringing me in 2019.

“He has kept away and has remained silent, kept away from the brouhaha, went back to the law school and has been silent and that silence has made a way for people to come in to say all manner of things about him.”
