A new report by June Group Research and Council for African Security Affairs (CASA) has tipped Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to win the February 25 elections.

The poll states that Atiku Abubakar rates higher than the Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples' Party (NNPP).

Political geography, religion, resources, and class were the key variables used in the polls.

What the pollster said: "In conclusion, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is expected to garner 64% from the three zones in the North, rake 45% from the South-South region where his running mates come from, acquire 37 % from the South-East with 27% from the South-West, which is the stronghold of the APC candidate."
