Nasarawa government to create enabling environment for entrepreneurs

The Nasarawa State government has assured young entrepreneurs in the state of providing an enabling environment for them to explore their potentials to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the state.

Governor Abdullahi Sule gave the assurance on Friday, November 19, in Lafia during the closing ceremony of the 2021 Employability and Entrepreneurship training programme for 100 youths who were selected across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.

During the ceremony, a Job Fair was organized for the 100 youths with Governor Sule expressing optimism that it will enhance the capacity of the graduates to be gainfully employed and engaged in meaningful ventures.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Emmanuel Akabe, said that the commitment of his administration to turn around the fortunes of youths in the state was why Oxfarm Nigeria has indicated an interest in citing a Bits Academy in Nasarawa state to run a one year ICT programme for unskilled youths.


He said, “The Job Fair that we are having today is imperative as it will go a long way in availing them the opportunity to shake-off idleness and engage them in ventures that will improve their economic wellbeing.” 51,000 residents enroll in Nasarawa Health Insurance Scheme.

Also, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Human Capital Development, Habiba Balarabe-Suleiman said that the training was part of the Nasarawa state government’s efforts in achieving accelerated development while pledging to remain resolute in ensuring that the goals of the HCD office of eradicating poverty in the state are achieved.
