The Naira sustained appreciation against the United States Dollar across official and parallel foreign exchange markets on Wednesday.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira strengthened to N1,348.95 against the dollar on Wednesday, up from N1,351.02.
This means that the Naira gained N2.07 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.
In the last three days, the Naira has recorded N5.51 against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
At the black market, the appreciated to a recorded high of N1,445 per dollar on Wednesday from N1,450 the previous day.
This followed a recent directive by CBN on the sale of at most $150,000 to licensed Bureau De Change operators per week.
This development comes as the country’s foreign reserves grew further to $47.38 billion as of February 9th, 2026, up from $47.03 billion on February 6th.
