Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has urged Nigerians to take their anger and frustration to the polls on February 25.

In a Twitter post on Wednesday, February 16, Peter Obi who was addressing the violence that erupted in Delta state as a result of the scarcity of Naira notes in the country made this known.

Recall that some angry Nigerians took to the streets to protest the ongoing scarcity of Naira notes. However, the some thugs destroyed bank properties, razed a bank and other POS shops.

“There have been reported pockets of skirmishes in Benin City and other places arising from the recent scarcity of cash. I plead with Nigerians to be patient; help is coming. The suffering and harsh economic realities have brought untold anger on the people.

“May we, for the nation, take such anger to the polls on February 25. That is the only way to end the present suffering,” Peter Obi said.

The Naira redesign is a policy implemented by President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration.

This crisis has brought about chaos and violence among Nigerians across the country.

In a nationwide broadcast on Wednesday, February 16, President Buhari directed the Central Bank of Nigeria to allow the old N200 notes into circulation alongside the new N200, N500, and N1000 notes till April 10.
