Some angry Nigerian youths on Wednesday, February 15, 2022, set some commercial banks on fire as tension continued to grow over the scarcity of the newly redesigned N200, N500, and N1,000 notes.

They were seen in their numbers expressing their grievances and destroying anything the could find at the banks. One of the visibly affected banks is the UBA bank.

The Police spokesperson in Delta State, Bright Edafe, said on Twitter that not only were the banks set on fire, but two vehicles as well.

“We have arrested nine suspects so far. Some persons will still call this protest. They entered into the banks’ premises, destroyed the ATM machines, the buildings, window glasses and others,” he said.
