Nigerian music executive Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley, has opened up on his relationship with late singer Mohbad.
Legit.ng earlier reported that the Marlian boss revealed to fans and critics on Monday, August 19, his readiness to share his side of the story amid controversies surrounding the deceased’s death.
In a clip from the lengthy confession hosted on YouTube, the "Soapy" hitmaker disclosed that Mohbad was allegedly introduced to a hard substance known as “Ice” by his friends.
Naira claimed that he advised his former signee against taking such substances, noting that Mohbad apologised for his actions and revealed that he used hard substances due to stress.
Mohbad’s death in September 2023 shook the music industry. His sudden passing was followed by widespread protests, candlelight vigils, and intense scrutiny of his strained relationship with Marlian Music.
Even though a Lagos State coroner cleared both Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, of direct involvement in the tragedy, the weight of public opinion has never left them.
For many Nigerians, the story is still incomplete, and perhaps that is why Marley’s latest tweet has generated so much interest.
