Naira Marley claims cultism is rampant in music industry, issues strong disclaimer

Controversial Nigerian rapper Naira Marley has once again set social media ablaze after making explosive claims about the prevalence of cultism within the country’s music industry.

In a series of posts shared on his official X, page on Thursday, January 22, the singer alleged that only a very small number of Nigerian music stars are not affiliated with cult groups. According to him, the problem is far more widespread than the public is aware of.

“We no reach five wey never join cult for this industry,” Naira Marley wrote, suggesting that the majority of top artistes belong to one group or another.

The rapper took his comments further by issuing a clear disclaimer, stressing that he should not be linked to any violent incidents or deaths within the entertainment space. This comes amid ongoing public scrutiny following the death of his former signee, Mohbad.

“I no get problem with anybody o. If anybody die no be me o… na dem go kill each other finish,” he stated.

Naira Marley also claimed that many of the alleged cult-affiliated artistes do not genuinely get along, but maintain alliances out of necessity and shared interests rather than real friendship.

“Dem no kuku like each other, na because of us dem link up,” he added, implying that many industry relationships are forced and driven by survival, not loyalty.
